Hi everyone! My name is Stefanie Johnson, formerly Ms. Czelusniak, and I have worked at SMI for 12 years. I taught pre-k for many years, and have been in kindergarten for the past three.
I have always wanted to be a teacher. I was very blessed to have wonderful teachers throughout my schooling. I hope to be the same engaging, fun, and loving teacher that I had growing up.
Each year, some of my goals are: to get my students to love learning, enjoy coming to school, always feel comfortable to participate in class, be a kind friend, and begin or strengthen their relationship with God.
I received my education at SUNY Plattsburgh and Saint Rose. My undergraduate degree is in childhood education and my masters is in Literacy. I love working with the early reader. It’s amazing the growth that is made in kindergarten. Many students come in still learning letters and letter sounds, and leave being able to read and write sentences! With that said, all enter at different stages and it is my pleasure to differentiate to their individual learning need — whether it be reinforcement or enrichment.
When I’m not at school, I’m enjoying spending time with my amazing family. I am blessed with an incredible husband, son, and daughter. We enjoy good food and being active. I like to incorporate health and wellness into the classroom, too.
If you’re going to be in my classroom this year, yay! We are going to have so much fun learning together. Visitors are always welcome (and encouraged). I can’t wait to get to know you!
